THE CONTRIBUTION OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TOWARDS NATION ECONOMY

Public transportation is vital in every country in the world. It can make accessibility to the urban area and ease the people that live in urban area possible to get into their destination. Perhaps, public transportation would competently improve economy in our country. As example that nearly surrounds us is public buses such as Rapid KL and train likely ERL, KTM, LRT and others.

Public transportation can be said as the major contribution in our nation economy. Precisely, country revenue is arising from day to day. Apart from that, it thus provides people with new job opportunities which prevent a country from jobless issue. People will have their own income in order to support their own family. To that condition, it will also diminish the crime rates in the country where they have their own monthly income.

Other than that, price of land will also increase from day to day as the result from public transportation. Prominently, the value of land which located in urban area is usually high cost therefore these issue will affect the usage of public transportation. The campaign which organized by government specifically to convince community of using public transportation is to overcome the traffic jam which occur around the city area.

Do you know the national revenue will not directly generate approximately to the government? But it is also through maintenance of the bus and the society. For example 20% will go to the government, 20% for the salary of government sector, 20% will be for the maintenance of the bus, 20% is for the community, and lastly another 20% will be generate to other facilities.

Furthermore, using public transportation services may enhance the safety by reducing collisions and associated with the insurance cost, personal losses and contingencies cost. Government can practice reduction by reducing cost of traffic enforcement. For example, Malaysia traffic enforcement is operated 24/7 to monitor the user. If the people using public transport, police enforcement can reduce the police staff to monitor the public transportation.

Public transportation support economic growth through the concentration of economic activity. Economy activity includes shop, office, entertainment centres and other land uses around public transportation. Such clustering activity may reduce labour cost, improved communication, lower infrastructure cost and interaction with similar business. Clustering provide an opportunity for more face to face contact which result in higher productivity and more economic growth. Public transportation investment can generate income between organizations, government agencies, and provide job opportunity. As for conclusion, public transportation definitely gives both government and community most beneficial earnings towards this two sides.
